百年古剎清水寺位於林園區下方，創建於1666年，主祀釋迦牟尼佛及觀音菩薩，信徒遍佈林園區及大寮區村落，歷史悠久且香火鼎盛。寺廟創建因緣具神話色彩，傳聞當地農夫耕作之際，途經岩下，驚見光芒數尺，並在岩邊樹上發現小紅香灰囊一只，兩面寫明釋迦牟尼佛及觀音菩薩佛號，事蹟傳遍鄰里，感召地方人士結庵供奉。清水寺於1964年興工改建後益發清靜幽美，四周遍栽草木花卉，並興建涼亭供香客遊覽休憩。
