大東公園原名中正公園，闢建於1981年，面積約9.7公頃，位於鳳山活動核心區域內，因捷運橘線開通、大東文化藝術中心之建置與鳳山溪、曹公圳之整治，大東公園綠地空間之重要性與價值性逐漸提升，並兼具周邊景觀延續與社區聯繫之聚力。園內綠蔭扶疏，林木蒼鬱，宛如鳳山區內的小森林，並設有老人活動中心、多座休憩涼亭、百榕園及長青學苑等，是市民優質的休閒遊憩空間。
