毛氏宗祠是韶山毛氏家族的总祠堂，始建于1758年，1763年建成。建筑系砖木结构，青砖青瓦，建筑面积约700平方米。宗祠大门天头有"毛氏宗祠"四字。大门外两边各立一石鼓。

祠堂房屋分为三进。第一进为戏楼。楼阁中部为戏台，可容纳数十人登台演庆。楼两侧为化妆室。楼下中部为一小厅。两侧各一厢房，左为庖厨地，右为酒饭舍。第二进为中厅。右廊悬钟，左廊悬鼓。是全族办公、讲约、祭祀和摆酒设宴的地方。第三进是"敦本堂"，堂中安放历代祖宗神主牌位。堂左为住宿处，堂右为钱谷、祭器等物的收藏处。
