五峰旗風景區為宜蘭縣礁溪鄉著名的風景區，根據「噶瑪蘭廳志」的記載，五峰旗一名源自「...以形得名，五峰排列，如豎旗幟，...」，而形如大旗般的飛瀑，就在山岩斷崖前，故名「五峰旗瀑布」。

五峰旗瀑布共分三層，上層長約50公尺，由狹窄的山谷中，由峽谷奔流而下，中層長約30公尺，水瀑由壁中穿出，遊客可於「觀瀑亭」欣賞山巒景致，下層長約20公尺，瀑布下方形成的小水潭順水流而下，有幾處潭水可供遊客在此嬉戲，在五峰旗風景區入口處，則規劃有兒童戲水區，每逢假日人潮不斷，是全家人的休閒渡假勝地。
