迨九份淘金熱起，一時風起雲湧，大批移民蜂擁而至，每逢祭典祈求還願絡繹於途，香火益加鼎盛。採金者雖眾，經靈籤指示多有所獲，為感神恩乃有擴建之議。惟經主其事者多次請示神意未果後，乃以保留原有小廟，再加蓋大廟於外請示立允，乃形成大廟包小廟之罕見奇觀。目前除供奉福德正神，並配祀觀音佛祖及註生娘娘。
