Klavreström in Sweden

Klavreström är en ort och ett tidigare järnbruk i Uppvidinge kommun, Kronobergs län, Småland. Orten ingår i tätorten Norrhult-Klavreström. Järnbruket i Klavreström grundades år 1736 av löjtnanten Lars Silfversparre. Det ligger vid Mörrumsåns övre del mellan Enghultsjön och Norrsjön. Bruket i Klavreström och kringliggande järnbruk hade en likartad produktion. Av sjömalm framställdes tackjärn i masugnen. Tackjärnet kunde användas till gjutgods eller vidareförädlas till stångjärn i hammarsmedjan. En del av stångjärnet förädlades ytterligare på bruket. En del blev svartsmide i knipsmedjan och en del spik i spiksmedjan. I Klavreström tillverkades i första hand stångjärn men senare även kaminer, värmepannor, kokspisar, manglar och andra bruksföremål. Vid bruket byggdes förutom smedja, masugn och andra produktionsbyggnader även arbetarbostäder och en bruksherrgård. Redan vid 1800-talets början fanns omkring 50 personer boende vid bruket. År 1893 förvärvades bruket av kapten Johan Melcher Ekströmer (politiker) och övertogs 1905 sonen av Carl Ivar Ekströmer. Produktionen moderniserades och hölls igång till omkring 1970, då bruket i Carl Johan Ekströmers ägo lades ner. 1983-1985 inrättades ett bruksmuseum i det gamla stenmagasinet. Utställningen visar föremål från den tidigare produktionen. I vissa av brukets lokaler finns STF:s vandrarhem. The resort is included in the urban area Norrhult-Klavreström. Ironworks in Klavreström was founded in 1736 by Lieutenant Lars Silfversparre. It is located at the upper part between Mörrumsåns Enghultsjön and North Sea. The mill in Klavreström and surrounding iron had a similar production. Of BOG-IRON ORE prepared pig iron in the blast furnace. The pig iron could be used to cast or processed into bar iron in the forge. A portion of bar iron were further processed at the mill. Some were black wrought in knipsmedjan and some nails in the nail forge. In Klavreström manufactured primarily iron rod but later stoves, furnaces, cooking stoves, roller and other appliances. The mill was built besides tank, furnace and other production buildings also workmen and a manor house. Already in the early 1800s there were about 50 people living at the mill. In 1893 the mill was acquired by Captain John Melcher Ekströmer (politicians) and was taken over in 1905 the son of Carl Ivar Ekströmer. Production was modernized and was started around 1970, when the practice of Carl Johan Ekströmers possession was closed. 1983-1985 established a mill museum in the old stone magazine.
