「泥火山」其實不是真的火山，而是一個斷層帶，也是一個破裂帶，因為泥漿與氣體同時噴出地面後堆積而成，噴泥口持續不停的湧出泥漿，就這樣周而復始地從平水位逐漸升高，終於泥漿溢出水面，像燒開的水般湧出一顆顆大氣泡。
