東北角豐富的地景資源處處驚奇，回顧地球億萬年來的地質演變，東北角海岸可以說是臺灣的縮影，它從華南邊上的一片陸地下沈成海，再從海底被擠上高山，這一段滄海桑田的演變歷史，刻劃在龍洞岬古老堅硬的四稜砂岩中，也紀錄在鼻頭角沈積的地層上。
