海岸岩塊的節理在風化侵蝕的作用下，而形成了如針狀或柱狀的「岩峰」。其實濱海公路沿線有許多類似這種唯妙唯肖的奇石巨岩，在當年濱海公路修築工程中，從水湳洞、南雅到和美一段是開鑿山壁而成的，在炸山開路時也將許多山脈開鑿成美麗又奇怪形狀的岩石，讓你從各種不同的角度來觀察，都能產生許多美麗而生動的幻想。
