The Hite overlook along Utah State Road 95 lies within the Glen Canyon National Recreation area surrounding Lake Powell. From the overlook, the confluence of the Dirty Devil and the Colorado River are visible to the north just before the Colorado enters the northern arm of Lake Powell. To the east, the long boat ramp of the Hite Marina lies high and dry at least another boat ramp's length away from the low waters of Lake Powell. The low level in this picture is due partly to the early spring season and partly due to the recent loan of water to the Lake Mead system to the south.
