位於鹽埕區的駁二藝術特區，原為臨港駁二倉庫群，經市府與民間團體、學數機構等共同合作，將塵封的陳舊倉庫改造再利用，舉辦多場展演活動，成為高雄藝術文化創作平台。2012年好萊塢非常有名的視覺特效公司-美國Rhythm & Hues Studios公司進駐駁二藝術特區中最大的7號倉庫，成立視覺製作中心及文創學習中心，培訓在地視覺特效人才，讓高雄邁向亞太電影之都。
