The "Rosa Dos Ventos" (compass rose) is a world map in front of the Monument to the Discoveries (Padrão dos Descobrimentos) in Belem. It shows the Portuguese discoveries of the 15th and 16th century. In the background one can see the Jéronimos Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jéronimos).
