梓官赤崁海堤步道於2002年經過規劃整建後，在原有的道路上舖設連鎖磚，起點是彩繪的舊海防崗哨，還有涼亭、護牆彩繪等。獨樹一格的十二生肖與年年有餘的造型雕塑，增添了美感與趣味﹔太陽能藝術庭園燈等設施還兼具環保意識。不管是步行或是騎腳踏車，沿途欣賞日落的美景，瞭望廣闊的海岸，都能達到休閒與健身的效果。
