The Sanshui District of Foshan City in the middle of Guangdong Province, is also in the central area of the Pearl River Delta. It is also famous for being the hometown of many oversea Chinese. 佛山三水是個僑鄉，市容整潔，市北的森林公園內，有座由整塊岩石鑿出來的大臥佛，身長108米，號稱世界最大，附近還有一座小廟，當地人稱之為「大昭寺」，此寺是仿西藏大昭寺而建，但無法找到寺名，當地政府的旅遊介紹指這地方為「漢藏佛教文化藝術殿堂」，不過這裡不久後，將會興建一座正式的寺廟____極樂寺。
