石岡水壩位於豐原往東勢路上，附近自然景觀保持的相當完整，經常可見小白鷺鷥，藍鷓鴣等鳥類等嬌客，更是中部地區頗富盛名的賞鳥景點，水壩尚保留幾處受到921大地震所震毀的遺跡，而下遊的埤豐大橋則因921大地震而而形成了小瀑布，水壩入口處旁更有廢棄鐵鐵道「9號鐵道」現已改成東豐自行車綠廊，假日時總是吸引大批的單車愛好者前來，遊人絡繹不絕。
