St Katherine's Monastery

Located on the foot of Mount Sinai (also known as Moses Mountain) on the Sinai peninsula, St. Katherine's Monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, run by Eastern Orthodox monks. It was built between 527 and 565, which makes it one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world. Inside its walls is the Chapel of the Burning Bush, where a living bush, said to have come from the bush that Moses saw burning, grows.
