太陽谷位於燕巢區金山里，是燕巢區地形最險峻的惡地地形。類似美國大峽谷，其由巨厚的泥岩組成，經雨水的沖刷侵蝕後，形成險峻的鋸齒形山脊，土質表層有白氧化鎂及硫酸鹽薄層，經夕陽照射後，天地呈現一片蒼茫景象，而中間凹陷淤積的泥水在月光照射下，像座靜謐的湖泊，恍如置身月宮般寧靜。
