Constructed in 1856, the Battery Point Lighthouse is one of 16 Cape Cod style lighthouses built along the West Coast. The beacon itself was in full function until it was decomissioned in 1965. The lighthouse tower was restored in 1987. Access to this lighthouse is only during low tide.
