St Johns Bere Regis
England

This is the beautiful church of St. John the Baptist Bere Regis. There are some fine carvings of the 12 apostles on the roof and there is a plaque on the wall of this church commemorating the Turberville family, this family is the one mentioned on the first page of Tess of the d'Urbervilles, by Thomas Hardy who changed it to d'Urberville and the village name from Bere Regis to Kingsbere-sub-Greenhill.
