The King Taksin Shrine

In the central part of Rayong is a monument associated with the history of Thailand. Located at Wat Lum Mahachai Chumpon on Thaksin Road, Temple of The King Taksin Shrine was built in honor of a brief stop King Taksin the Great. He arrived in Rayong to mobilize his troops and liberate the Kingdom of Ayutthaya by Burmese invaders. As the legend goes, is still preserved tree (Parkia), opposite the church, which was located under the elephant stables for King Taksin the Great. The temple is well register for the remainder locals, especially ethnic Chinese. The temple attracts large crowds during Chinese New Year and December 28.
