Yuansianyuan Oil-paper Umbrella Gallery
Taiwan

Located in Meinung district, Kaohsiung City, Meinung Yuanxiang Yuan Oil-Paper Umbrella Culture Museum is the first museum founded by Li Hong-jun in 1988 to exhibit Meinung’s Hakka oil-paper umbrella. The design of the museum reflects the Hakka architecture with the fusion of Chinese traditional palace wall and modern style, in combination with the three-section compound (a U-shaped home with an open courtyard in the center), the tall and colorful archway, and a distinctive signboard in the shape paper umbrella. Besides organizing workshops for color painting and production of oil-paper umbrella, a Hakka cultural gallery is also included in the museum, as well as the exhibition of folk toys, glass beads, Hakka cuisine, arts and crafts, etc.
