In 2007, the city of Temuco (Center-South of Chile) was selected as one of the four venues of the FIFA U-20 Football, 2008, which involved the demolition of the old Estadio "German Becker", and the construction of this stadium, brand new, to meet all FIFA standards. Today, the teams "Deportes Temuco" and "Union Temuco" homefield exercise here.
