The harbour bridge is connecting part of the town of Sassnitz to the old ferry harbour, called “Glasbahnhof”. Sassnitz is a seaside resort and port on Rügen. Sassnitz was the first seaside resort on Rügen. Theodor Fontane, the famous German Poet wrote: “To travel to Rügen is to travel to Sassnitz.”
