Collegiate Church of St. Peter and Paul in Kruszwica

Collegiate Church of St. Peter and Paul in Kruszwica - one of the best preserved monuments of Romanesque architecture in Poland.

The building has retained almost intact spatial arrangement and shape, except rebuilt in the sixteenth century, the western facade. The interior in all its austerity and simplicity of forms in a high degree of wear characteristics of an authentic Roman basilica. Construction time is collegiate in Kruszwica years 1120 - 1140. Originally, it was probably the seat of a bishopric, which about 1148 were transferred to Wloclawek. Collegiate is a three-aisled, pillar basilica built on a Latin cross plan. It built of granite and sandstone. It has five apse of different sizes and a brick tower.
