St. John the Baptist Bere Regis

St. John the Baptist church Bere Regis. This is the church which is mentioned in the novel Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy as there is a plaque on the wall of the church dedicated to the Turberville family. In the novel the d'Urberville family was based on the Turberville family of Bere Regis, Dorset, (Kingsbere-sub-Greenhill).
