Pentre Ifan is a Neolithic burial chamber dating from around 3500BC. The Bronze age portal dolmen is situated on a hill high above the Nevern Valley and was one of the first ancient sites in Wales to receive official protection under the Ancient Monuments Act of 1882.
Much of the original earth from the long barrow has long disappeared to reveal three standing stones supporting a large capstone. Curiously, despite its function as an ancient tomb, excavations have yet to reveal any evidence of burials.
