Altar of St Nichols church, Charlwood
England

Located north west of Gatwick airport, Charlwood village can trace it's roots back to Norman times.

This Grade I listed building was built in around 1080, only fourteen years after the Battle of Hastings, and before most of the English cathedrals. The Rood Screen that separates the chancel and nave dates from the 13th Century and more information can be found here - http://www.charlwoodandhookwood.co.uk/history-of-the-church.php

Click here - http://www.charlwoodandhookwood.co.uk/st-nicholas-church.php for more about the present day church.
