Jiguan Mountain (front), Yanchao
Taiwan

Jiguan Mountain has an elevation of 210 meters, a length of approximately 1 kilometer and a thickness of less than 6 meters. It possesses a unique shape: the hilltop is eroded into the shape of a cockscomb. As a result, it is named “Jiguan Mountain” (Cockscomb Mountain). Yanchao residents call it Cilin Mountain because the protruding rock formation in the east resembles the tail of the mythical beast Qilin. The soaring rock formation in the center looks like a cockscomb and especially the dorsal fin of Qilin, and the little pointed mountain tops in the west are similar to the head and feet of Qilin, presenting one of the strangest mountain shapes in Taiwan.
