Last Stand on Archwood

The biggest shootout in the history of Los Angeles took place on this street on February 28, 1997. This panorama was taken from the spot where the last bank robber was left to bleed to death after having been fatally shot by the LAPD. Some of the surrounding houses were riddled with bullets, a few of which had penetrated three (thin) walls. Zoomed in, you can see some of the bullet marks in the sidewalk.

Wat Thai is the largest Thai Wat (a Thai Buddhism place of worship) outside of Thailand. The architecture is pure Thai and spectacular (even more so when seen in the countryside in Thailand surrounded by lush green foliage). Yes, that's really gold and it can be seen sparkling in the Sun from miles away.

The Thais are a very friendly people and this is a special place where all are welcome.
