Guimaraes, Church of Nossa Senhora da Oliveira , transept
Portugal

The Church of Nossa Senhora da Oliveira (1397-1450), belonged to the former medieval monastery. It is the result of a gothic reconstruction (3 ships of 3 tram, and protruding transept). She is the richest example of the Gothic throughout northern Portugal. Between 1450-1515 suffered important transformations at the headboard, which later in the century. XVII was enlarged. At that time the Sineira tower was built. The most relief intervention, which was not finished, was that of the placement of a broken arch window of 3 archivolts with an annement stone historized frame, the offer of King D.João I, for victory in the battle of Aljubarrota.
