About this photo
This panoramic photo of Ljubljana, Slovenia was created from 1,480 individual photos. These images were stitched together into a single, seamless 360° image which is 200,000 x 100,000 pixels. If you printed this photo at 150 DPI (dots per inch), it would be 33 meters (111 feet) long! This image is therefore, as far as we can tell, the largest photograph of Ljubljana ever made.
To navigate the image, click and drag your mouse inside the image. You can zoom using your mouse wheel (or using two fingers if you have a macbook, for example). You can also use the controls on the left side of the image.
The panorama was shot during the summer of 2011 from the top of the tower at Ljubljana castle. A Canon 550D and a Leaf 80-megapixel medium format digital back mounted on a Mamiya 645DF were used for shooting. The shooting took about 4 hours. Unfortunately the air was not quite as clear as it could have been, but it is still clear enough to see some of the mountains in the distance.
