Alto Douro Wine Region, Pocinho Dam, Vila Nova de Foz Coa
Portugal

Pocinho is one of the connecting points between the districts of Guarda and Bragança, connecting the municipalities of Vila Nova de Foz Coa and Torre de Moncorvo. Before the construction of the dam, the crossing was made through a road-railway bridge, which is currently closed for both types of traffic.

Pocinho Dam is a 49 m tall (height above foundation) and 430 m long gravity dam with a crest altitude of 139 m.Construction of the dam began in 1974. The dam was completed in 1982. It is owned by Companhia Portuguesa de Produção de Electricidade
