The German Clock Museum showcases over 8,000 objects covering over 160 years of clocks. Furtwangen University started with the foundation of the German Clock Museum in 1852 and the Clock Maker School in 1877.

Furtwangen University is also the birthplace of the world renowned panorama tools, developed by Prof. Dr. H. Dersch, who created the foundation for virtual reality photography and panorama viewers on the market today.
