Suworow Monument and Devil's Bridge on the Gotthard route in Switzerland
Switzerland

Suworow Monument in the Schoellenen Canyon in central swiss canton Uri. in the west you see the old and the new Devil's Bridge. - Both bridges are situated in extremely difficult rocky terrain and the legend says that local people charged the devil himself to build the old bridge. - The Suworow Monument was build in 1899 vy the Russian State in remembrance of General Suworow who fought a battle here in 1799 against the French troops of Napoleon. The Monument is still owned by Russia, but not as often told a Russian exterritorial property inside of Switzerland. - On the opposite side of the Canyon you see the old Gotthard street which has been replaced by the highway tunnel.
