Suworow Monument in the Schoellenen Canyon in central swiss canton Uri. in the west you see the old and the new Devil's Bridge. - Both bridges are situated in extremely difficult rocky terrain and the legend says that local people charged the devil himself to build the old bridge. - The Suworow Monument was build in 1899 vy the Russian State in remembrance of General Suworow who fought a battle here in 1799 against the French troops of Napoleon. The Monument is still owned by Russia, but not as often told a Russian exterritorial property inside of Switzerland. - On the opposite side of the Canyon you see the old Gotthard street which has been replaced by the highway tunnel.
