The white drawbridge over the River the Berkel, the typical scenery of the Achterhoek, a region in the eastern part of the Netherlands. The city of Zuthpen was founded where the rivers Berkel and IJssel meet; it is amazing how such a small river could have such an economic significance in medieval times.
