The ruins of Dun Gearymore Broch, Waternish
Scotland

Dun Gearymore is one of two ruined brochs located on Waternish.

A Broch is an Iron Age structure designed to both impress and defend. Their general layout comprised two concentric stone walls with a stairway or access within the walls to the upper floors. This would have been easily defensible for an extended family and their livestock.

Waternish Point, located at the northern tip of the Waternish Peninsula on the Isle of Skye, is a remote headland that provides panoramic sea views out across the Minch towards the Outer Hebrides.
