The Red Dot trail is a moderately strenuous hike just outside the town of White Rock, New Mexico, that descends into the canyon of the Rio Grande. Along the way, hikers should look for petroglyphs on the basalt rocks.
To the east, the Sangre de Christo mountains are visible and snow capped.

New Mexico is a state located in the southwestern region of the United States.
