The Slender-snouted Crocodile is distinguished by its long thin snout. It is highly endangered species, with only a few existing in the wild. Since 2014, the zoo of Abidjan has been breeding a group of mature crocodiles. Eggs are hatched in an incubator. They are then allowed to grow until they are old enough to be placed in a juvenile enclosure. Each year, the eggs are collected (spawning, usually starts mid-March). Eggs are supported by the hatchery (where now are the smallest crocodiles). Eggs are incubated in an incubator with controlled temperature and humidity. The actual output of the newborn egg may request the assistance of the zoo staff. The last step is to bring the newborn in the area - external - growth. The laying of 2013 was modest, average / good in 2014, very good in 2015 ( although many eggs/embryos were lost due to power outages), in 2016 we will see.
