Looking from Scott Hill towards Brighton Ski Area
Utah

With an elevation of 10'116 feet / 3'083 meters Scott Hill ranks as #30 on the list of the highest peaks in Salt Lake County. From here you have a splendid view over Big Cottonwood Canyon (Brighton Ski Area, Solitude) as well as the Park City Area.

The access to Scott Hill is pretty easy. Starting at the intersection Big Cottonwood Canyon Road and NF-029 (40° 36.822'N / 111° 34.257'W) you follow NF-029 for about 1.5 miles, gaining about 600 feet. There is no trail for the very last part to the top, about 250 feet in elevation. However it's not a big deal.

This area seems to be a paradise for mountain bikers, even on odd numbered days, when they actually are not supposed to be on the trail. Well, not everyone can read ;-)

Scott Hill is named after 4 men (Ephraim, John, Joseph and Simeon Scott) who operated a silver mine (Scott Hill Mining Company about 1870).

As of today only a few remnants can be found.
