The model of a miner's lamp was erected in the 1960s in the east of the Estate "A" to emphasize the fact, that the majority of its inhabitants were just miners (at the time of erecting the estate, there was also opened a new coal mine in Lędziny, near Tychy, so many its future workers received flats just in the Estate "A").

After many years the original model was demolished, because it was ruined, but in 2009 it was reconstructed at a scale 10:1, although in a bit different form.
