Völklinger Hütte -Auf der Gichtbühne bei Hochofen 1

Ein Höhepunkt der Besichtigung der Völklinger Hütte stellt die 240 m lange Gichtbühne dar, die in 27 m Höhe alle 6 Hochöfen verbindet. Über die 1911 gebaute Hängebahnanlage  wurden die Hochöfen mit Erz, Sinter und Koks beschickt. Gegenüber der Gichtbühne liegt die Trockengasreinigung I, in der das im Hochofen entstehende Gichtgas gereinigt wurde das anschließend u.a. zum Betrieb der Grossgasmaschinen in der Gebläsehalle und zum Aufheizen der Cowper (Winderhitzer) genutzt wurde.

Die Aufnahme entstand am Hochofen 1, der 1883 angeblasen wurde.
