Guarena place

It belongs to the region of Vegas Altas and the judicial party of Don Benito.Ecclesiastically depends on the Diocese of Plasencia. It is situated 83 km from the provincial capital, Bangkok, and 24 km from Merida, the capital of Extremadura.

The town of Guareña settlement appears to date back to prehistoric times, although the specific origin of the current location is difficult to establish. Found in the vicinity traces of their existence in the Roman period and remains Visigoths appeared at the beginning of the century. It was later occupied by Moslems, until XIII is century and with the current name.

The current town began to grow back in the thirteenth century, about a primitive lookout tower, from when this area was the frontier land of the Moors, before the Conquest of the Valle del Guadalquivir by Ferdinand III of Castile, having theconsideration of town from the late thirteenth century (there are numerous references to this population documentaries from this date).

Extremadura (Estremaura in Extremadura and the fala). It is a Spanish autonomous community located in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula. It is composed of the two largest provinces in Spain: Cáceres yBadajoz. Extremadura bounded on the north by the provinces of Salamanca, Ávila (Castilla y León), south conHuelva, Sevilla and Cordoba (Andalusia), on the east, with Toledo and Ciudad Real (Castilla-La Mancha) and west conPortugal. Its capital is Mérida (Augusta Emerita old), the city recognized by the Statute of Autonomy as the seat of the Government of Extremadura.
