Ka Lae, which is Hawaiian for "The Point," is on Hawaii's Big Island, and is as far south as you can go in the United States. The site is wind-blown and wild and far from other tourist draws. It is popular with cliff divers. The beach is a jumbled contrast of broken jest black lava and broken but rounded and weathered ping pong ball size coral.
