Ke Ga Lighthouse at the very top
Vietnam

Ke Ga Ligthouse is a wonderful piece of architecture designed by French architect Snavat in 1897 with a view to protect ships from the dangers of reefs near Ke Ga Cape in the South China Sea. The lighthouse is 65 m (214 ft) above the sea level and houses both a literally head-spinning spiral steps (app. 184 steps) to the top and a powerful signal light (app. 2000W). The signal light draws its power from a set of solar batteries situated at the base of the lighthouse. Atop the lighthouse one can marvel a picturesque bird’s eye view on the island which reminds a lot bizarre natural landscapes of computer games (MYST and Riven, for example). Observe this pano and enjoy the unique experience! Info: See the one-story building below? There you can purchase an entrance ticket to the lighthouse (the price is 20 000 dong or 1 US dollar per person) and become a temporary lighthouse owner with a personal key to it.
