Andy Alpern is a Chicago born Israeli artist living in Tzfat in the Upper Galilee with his wife and son. He is a professional photographer who maintains a gallery and studio in Tzfat’s picturesque Artists’ Quarter. 

Andy moved to Israel in 1997 and trained as a tour guide specializing in Israel Experience adventures.  Combining guiding and photography, he created the first online virtual tour of Israel featuring 360-degree QuickTimeVR panoramas, still images, audio, video and text in an easy to navigate interface.  Andy has 

created Virtual Tours for the education, tourism and commercial markets.  His clients include 

Birthright Israel, United Jewish Communities, United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, 

Mount Hermon Ski Resort and many businesses and institutions throughout Israel and the 

world. A personal encounter or workshop with Eliyahu and his art at his gallery in Tzfat is a 

memorable experience.  Eliyahu’s work can also be experienced at Tziloom.com as well as 

at select galleries, installations, and retailers throughout Israel and the United States. 

Eliyahu’s specialties include panoramic photography where the images are often 360 

degrees - capturing the reality which humans can not see with their own eyes. His subject 

matter also includes light paintings, landscapes of nature, and life in Israel. Eliyahu prints his 

work in a variety of media including giclee prints on canvas, photo paper and fine art paper, 

transparent works framed in glass, and large installations in canvas and on wallpaper. The 

newest project is the “Panoramic Sukkah”, a Sukkah whose interior wall is a 360 degree 

image of Israel. He prints most of his work himself at his home studio with Ultrachrome K3 

archival, pigment based inks. Eliyahu is also a trained Israeli tour guide with 10 years of 

experience and has worked extensively with large and small groups in tourism and 

education. Eliyahu is available for commissioned projects and images.

Allan Der is a native California conservation photographer in Mono County, CA. He studied Photography and Graphic Design at Pasadena CC, Art Center LA and graduated with a BFA from CSULB. He has worked as a Graphic Designer, Photographer and Art Director.

His photographic work has mostly been commercial and advertising, annual reports and other publications. His clients have included IBM, Arco, Knudsen, Kraft Foods, Lawrys Foods. My personal work, my passion is fine art nature and landscape photography. A great hobby but no way to make a living these days! I enjoy extracting the little things out in the woods and prairies - insects on flowers, abstract forms and colors that others may pass by unnoticed. The flip side of that are grand landscapes and cloudscapes of the prairies, lakes and forests near my home. I have been experimenting with different techniques lately – focus stacking (PS5), spherical panoramas (PTgui) and HDR (Photomatix). In general I do most of my editing in Adobe Lightroom 3, then some Photoshop as necessary. I try to keep editing to a minimum – cropping, color correction and sharpening. In 2013 I started to cultivate the passion for photography, especially landscapes, then I'm experiencing the immersive photography, the only kind of photograph able to convey the feeling of actually being present at the place where the photo was taken, which requires knowledge of advanced techniques. I am an amatuer photographer as it is a hobby and not a profession.  My panorama goal is to shoot interesting landscapes without man made structures and in locations where the general public does not access.  Occasionally, I will include a structure if it has significance with respect to the rest of the panorama.

Dan Bailey is Professor of Visual Arts and the Director of the Imaging Research Center at UMBC, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. 

His films and animations have received numerous national and international awards and have been included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, France.  His work has been screened at the Kennedy Center, Whitney Museum, and Museum of Modern Art, and has been broadcast on HBO and PBS.

For the last 12 years, Bailey has been the director of UMBC’s Imaging Research Center (IRC). Recognizing imaging as a process that is rooted in art and design, incorporates science and technology, and vividly describes ideas, the IRC is a recognized center for interdisciplinary collaboration among artists, researchers, industry partners, and students in creating technologically advanced media works that communicate to and resonate with the general public. The Center is dedicated to investigating new technologies and their use for interpreting and presenting content. 

Bailey is also a second-generation fine art photographer and has been working with the panoramic image for most of his career.

In 1998 I was asked to provide online panoramic content for Virgin Atlantic. This comprised of photographing multiple aircraft cabins and various Virgin Clubhouses and departure lounges at Heathrow and Gatwick. The project was a success and my interest in high resolution panoramic photography was born.

Two years later I was recording the construction of the new steps, from the National Gallery to Trafalgar Square, in panoramic format and converting to video for TfL.

Yiannis Koukourakis (yiankoukour@gmail.com) was born in Athens, Greece. His acquaintance with photography came by working as assistance in an advertising studio. He first studied at the department of Photography, of the Technological Institute of Athens (TEI). Afterwards continued his studies on Fine Art Photography by following postgraduate studies in England, sponsored by the Hellenic Republic State Scholarships Foundation (IKY).

He works as a professional photographer since 1994, at the field of commercial photography, advertising and social events, also in collaboration with editions and advertising companies. From 2001 to 2005 he was teaching Photographic Applications, as a Laboratorial Collaborator, at the School of Photography of TEI Athens. Ever since I remember, I have lived my life through a viewfinder. I've purchased my first camera with the money I saved, at the age of 17.
That first roll of film was developed and my life was changed. I knew photography, was not just a hobby, but my future and my life.

I've gratuated from Azad university of Tehran in 2002 with bachelor's degree in photography, since then I have been involved in advertising and panaromic photoghraphy.  

I have also participated in several local art fair and got very positive feed back.   

Seriosity towards 360° VR panorama photography increases constantly as daily work does not any more disturb deepening studies in panorama photography nuances, software, equipment and other mystery details. Only my nearly insane affection in spending all spare time with my Beneteau Oceanis 40 steals hours from this new truly inspiring form of art - 360° VR panorama photography.

Allen Simmons received his bachelor's degree in Art from the University of West Florida. He also obtained degrees in Social Work and Education (M.Ed.).

It all started in the summer of 1998, I discovered a few rotating images on a Japanese engineering demonstration disc. With a simple flick of the 'wand', you get to explore the whole construction site. I was absolutely fascinated by the magic of virtual reality and I had an epiphany that this is exactly what I want to do from that moment on--I want to travel all around China to capture her beauty, and let the world admire her culture, from an unbiased, comprehensive perspective.

This motivated me to establish the ChinaVR website with my partners and set up a panoramic archive for all Chinese World Heritages and tour resorts. Therefore, I was regarded as China's first VR panoramic photographer. I dedicated myself to the development and application of Panoramic photography and computer processing technique, among them, Floating panorama and Motion panorama are well received by my peers. Thanks to the support of IVRPA and WWP, ChinaVR became the top Panoramic website in China and gained reputation worldwide.

Since hundreds of thousands of Chinese people were drawn to panorama, I established a pano forum for the fans and offer them a platform to exhibit their works and share their excitement. I always encourage these friends to participate in WWP events despite the language barrier. My next step is to setup a panoramic gallery, organise a Chinese panoramic association and publish a professional magazine in China, to help Chinese pano fans to communicate with international peers.

For my personal plan, I am preparing to build some "pano-rooms", in which huge gigapixel panoramic photographs were printed on Advanced Semi-gloss Photo Paper and mounted on 4 walls, sometimes with "ceiling" and "floor". Each wall measured at least 3.5 x 3.5 meters, people stand in the center of the "room", to feel the atmosphere of reality and to watch the very fine details of the panorama even with a magnifier.

One day a panoramic camera kit arrived in the mail.  The world has not been the same ever since.  So many places to go shoot.  Its a pleasure to have a gallery to share with you.

I finished economic technical school with big pain, because I knew that it is unnecessary to me, I wanted to go to school on the direction related to data processing and computer graphics. These times is bad and I'm in a new way to improve your skills. This journey began long ago (around 2005) when I was in favor to people borrowing equipment from them for a short period for the implementation of a session. August month is 2012 began with happiness in my hands, came first own the Nikon D80, which hunted for some time. But wallet is always empty.

Using someone hardware have done about 20 photo sessions once in a greater time. In the free time I played with computer, graphics, Virtual Tuning, computer graphics, and visited every good metal/punk concerts to around of my city.

I am photographer based in sunny island Singapore. I love shooting landscapes and 360 panoramas. A tea and gadget addict, I like to spend time walking to unknown places in Singapore to find good food, weird gadgets and a quaint place to chill out and relax.

Notley Hawkins is a Columbia Missouri photographer who specializes in weddings, family, portraits, architecture, editorial, event and fine-art photography. Also serving Jefferson City, Boonville, Fulton, Mexico, Kansas City and St. Louis MO.

After relocating to The Netherlands, I come to realise that it's one of the most beautiful places on earth; tulips in springs and festivals in summer.

Inspired by 'foreign' daily events, I decided to get back into an old hobby - back from the old SLR and film days - photography. Coupled with good stitching software and today's fast internet, it enables me to share some really great impressions from around the world.

I will take my role in this, try to present the Netherlands and the area around it in some 360 panoramas. I only started photo stitching this spring 2013, but the pano community has some great resources online for me to learn from. You can say I'm green in this art form. But it will definitely get me out, whatever the weather.

I have worked in the field of computers and digital imaging for the past 33 years and been involved in the evolution and acceptance of computer imaging from both a hardware and software perspective since joining U.K. digital pioneer Quantel in 1984. 

During my time with Quantel, I was responsible for introducing digital technology to the arts and media industries in the U.S. from my base in Silicon Valley. I also travelled regularly to the U.K. to work with Qantel’s development team on the UI and functionality of what would become the industry standard of it’s time: the Quantel Paintbox.

In 1987, I left Quantel to start his own Hollywood based company, Electric Paint.  Employing this new digital technology I produced Key Art for major motion pictures including Edward Scissorhand, Terminator II, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Die Hard I & II, Silence of the Lambs, JFK & Born on the Fourth of July and album covers such as Michael Hutchence’s MaxQ, Nirvana’s Nevermind, Elvis Costello’s Spike, and The Beasty Boys’ St Paul’s Café. 

Returning to Australia in 1994, I established Red Square Productions, one of the country’s first Web Development Agencey. Red Square went on to develop long lasting business relationships with companies such Qantas, Telstra, YHA, Panasonic Australia, The Good Guys, Harvey World Travel, Maersk Line Shipping and the oneworld Alliance of Airlines. Red Square Productions was known for its innovative approach to web development, pioneering a number of technologies in Australia and popularising 360˚ immersive imagery, creating unique virtual tours of sporting locations such as Olympic Park, accommodation offerings by Australian Youth Hostels and promotional events for Panasonic Australia, Qantas and Telstra.

In 2008 I merged Red Square’s business with local agency Webqem, allowing me to pursue my interest in travel, 360˚ panorama photography, and all things digital. 

In 2012 I became involved with an Australian start-up company Mogeneration and its tablet publishing solution Oomph taking on the role of Creative Technologist.   

I was recognised in the Australian Mobile Awards for my work in developing the award winning apps for Sky-OneCentral Park (Frost Design/Fraser Properties), Experience the Highs ( New England (NSW) tourism) apps and his 360˚ panoramic photographic contribution to the MCA Anish Kapoor app.

In 2014 I returned to my home city of Adelaide to focus on new technologies and ways of providing 360˚ Panoramic Photography, 360˚ Video and 360˚ Web & App services.

Today I am working with a diverse group of clients to develop 360˚ virtual tour content. My clients include the French luxury cruising company Ponant (Worldwide locations), various divisions of the University of Tasmania (Web and Mobile VR apps), Pichi Richi Railway (Quorn), Stuartholme School (Brisbane)  and MadebyFairfax (Sydney).

Hello there,

I'm a 2D and 3D graphic designer freelancer from Italy. I stepped into panoramic photography on 2005. My first equipment was a Kaidan QuickPan IV rotator with a Standard Bracket for cylindrical shots. Later on I switched to  Manfrotto 303SPH rotator for spherical panorama. Manfrotto 303SPH solution is very precise but too much heavy for travelling, so I decided to get a Fanotec NN3 in 2007, much better lighter and esier solution to carry on!

In the past I used a Nikon D-70 or a Nikon D-300, most of the times with the lightweight Fanotec NN3, a couple of lenses: Tamron 10/24 and a Nikkor 18/70 and a Manfrotto Digi 725B as tripod. Recently I got one Panasonic GH2 - 16Mpx (micro 4/3) with a 14-140 mm zoom.

I take panos expecially for sampling landscapes for HDR/IBL application in 3D sofwares or simply to have background plates for 3d architectural rendering.
In the last 10 years I've been in India, Sardinia (Italy), Cornwall (UK), Danmark, Norway, Mongolia, Indonesia, Madagascar and Japan.

Matjaž Kačičnik is a Slovenian professional photographer/photojournalist living in Cairo, Egypt. He is specialized in documenting cultural heritage and archaeological sites.

A resident of Egypt since 2004, Matjaž Kačičnik has worked with a variety of projects documenting Egypt’s unique material and cultural legacies, photographing pharaonic tombs and Cairo’s Islamic and Coptic monuments. He has also been exploring the works of his compatriot Anton Laščak (1856-1946), one of the most prominent Neo-Islamist artists in architecture, who served as court architect for the King of Egypt.

Traveling has always been a passion since young age & I have traveled extensively within India no wonder I choose photography as a profession at young age of 15. With the advent of digital technology I migrated completely to digital imaging because of panoramas.  I did my 1st panorama in Feb 1997 using a borrowed sony cybershot digital camera, in1998 I was all in love with this form of wide panoramic art & since 1997 have done 1000s of partial 180° & full 360° spherical panoramas for tourism, hotels & industrial locations.

When he was a little boy, Ken Aaron became fascinated by cameras—how they work, what they showed and what they didn’t. For years, photography had been his hobby—he learned of its storytelling value while thumbing through post-vacation family photos. But, over time, it became his passion—so much so that it inspired him to leave a successful and lucrative career in IT marketing and executive recruiting in the late-1990s, just to start all over again as a photographer’s assistant.

From there, he’d work his way up this career ladder one rung at a time, enrolling for classes at the Academy of Art to learn the technical education balanced with the practical experience learned working with other photographers. Since moving to Portland in 2003, Ken has been shooting for himself and for commercial clients (including Neighborhood Notes, which he founded in 2008) using a variety of techniques (high dynamic range, pinhole, macro photography, infrared, 360-degree panorama, and hand coloring) in both digital and film media.

The African Conservation Trust has been using a range of spatial documentation technologies to document South Africa's rich cultural heritage sites. Hi, One day I discovered 360Cities in the Gallery layer of Google Earth.  What was this?  Wow, this is cool.  I wanted to learn how to make them myself and so began the exciting journey of learning all about shooting panoramas, stitching, and finding out how to get them on Google Earth.

Living at the eastern edge of the Great Basin in Utah I noticed that there were not many panoramas out west of I-15 in Utah all the way over to Reno Nevada. A few shots were in the mountains in Nevada by a fellow in Salt Lake City but other than that it was empty territory with all kinds of interesting places to take photos.  This was a good excuse to start exploring these areas to take panoramas that could be shared with everyone on Google Earth.

 Other areas of the world are well represented in 360Cities and as a way to show thanks to the other 360Cities photographers that have taken time to shoot their parts of the world, I decided that I would try to do my part by taking photos in the areas in the western United States that don't as of yet have any panoramic photos.

Panoramio photos (photos in the default layer in Google Earth) are interesting but don't give the feeling of being at that location like a well shot 360 panorama does.  I use Panoramio as a tool to locate interesting areas for 360 panorama shots.  A greater concentration of photos = an interesting area to be considered for a 360.

Its fun to study the maps and Google Earth, find some areas to shoot, learn the history about the area, take the photos, stitch and try to perfect the image, and then share the image on 360 Cities and Google Earth.

I am a photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

I have been an enthusiastic photographer since the 1970's shooting with my dad's Pentax spotmatic, later converting to Canon film-based. I finally made a move to digital in 2004, and stuck with Canon to reuse my lenses. I still dabble in film with my prida and joy being a Mamiya RB67 Medium Format camera.

My portfolio has been tied closely to my work and my other hobbies. My portfolio included entertainment, portrait, model, live events, landscapes, and travel photography. I have been official photographer for the Vonk Afrikaans music awards for two years and also for the first Ghoema Music awards in 2012. 

As landscape photographer I have dabbled with wide panorama's but the 360 degree bug has only recently bitten me on a trip to Saudi Arabia. I did some work with a photographer based in Saudi Arabia who has been doing 360 degree panos for their Department of Tourism, and I promptly started doing the research, picked up a Panohead and an 8 mm Sigma lens and have been experimenting with the Sigma, and with other format lenses.

I still have a lot to learn, and participating in- and tudying all the amazing works on this site is a step for me to explore the possibilities that this form of photography offers to those who would like to get to know it.

I was working in advertising agency as an art Director for 10 years. Photography is a part of my life. I love this a long time before I had my own camera. Now I'm trying more concern in photography and I do pioneering work on it. My name is Muchamad Noor Eva, I came from Central Java, now I am Living at Jakarta - Indonesia.

I am an architectural historian who has found that panoramic imagery is the best way for my students to experience spaces which they cannot visit themselves. I have begun to create panoramas of my own to fill in gaps where I've been unable to find imagery by others, and hope ultimately to create a resource for art and architectural historians to access such imagery.

Several years ago, I was struck by curiousity and an irresistible urge to discover the art of photography. The idea of capturing what you see, thus documenting the way you see the world, really intrigued me. Having bought my first DSLR, I embarked, aimlessly, to learn the basics and technical aspects of photography. 

However, it wasn't until I stumbled across 2 award winning images, the first being “Guiding Light to the Stars” shot by Mark Gee and the second being "Distant Lands" by Michael Goh, that I knew what I wanted to focus on. 

The moment where I saw an image of the Milky Way on a screen, to finally seeing it for myself in person and photographing it was one of the most profound moments of my life.

Jeff was born and raised in the Philippines particularly in a small town of Negros Oriental named Dumaguete, officially known as "The City of Gentle People". He started taking photographs of people using D-SLR in mid 2010. His main interest is in lifestyle photography which involves taking portraits of family, engagement sessions, weddings, fashion/glamour and everyday life of people. Moreover, he also enjoys the unique way of art capturing photographs called 360 degree panoramas or the virtual reality where there is a human-computer interaction in which a real or imaginary environment is simulated and user interacts with, manipulate and take a virtual tour of the worlds iconic places. 

He is now currently based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates working as a full time software analyst and developer. For him photography was just an accident since his main hobby was all about sports and music. He plays badminton, table tennis, skateboarding and musical instruments particularly guitar. 

He also believes that taking a picture and setting up strobes is just the half of making a great photograph, but the time spent in post processing to make the photo more pleasing and more dramatic saturates more of the story behind it.

From in New York City, Jook Leung is a professional 360 Panoramic Photographer intent on capturing wide-view images of people in urban landscapes around the world.  His work has been described as "visually rich narratives depicting the intricacies of the world's cultures with the full spectrum of human emotion." Through his work, viewers can experience not only what the world looks like from a single vantage point, but the entire visual spectrum that they would have if they were spinning around in a circle while standing on the same point in real time.

Spanning the last two decades, Jook's 360 panoramic photography reveals the more subtle interactions between subjects and their environment that might not be apparent in regular photos.  His work captures greater detail than standard photographs, offering viewers an understanding of the composition in deeper context.  Differing from videography, panoramic photographs can be viewed in their entirety in a single moment or presented digitally, allowing the viewer to explore its dimensions with a mouse or a touch screen.

Always looking for the his next shot and ready to see it before it happens, Jook is internationally recognized as an innovator in spherical panoramic photography.  In a rare achievement, he was awarded three consecutive Fuji Film Masterpiece Awards for photographic excellence in electronic imaging by the International Association of Panoramic Photographers (IAPP).  Additionally, his experience spans 34 years as an advertising and editorial photographer with a background in photo-illustration and digital imaging.  Commercially, his current work with immersive panoramas includes hospitality, tourism, events and museum projects.   

Jook has given presentations and workshops about his work at International Virtual Reality Photography Association (IVRPA) / VR Summits and at International Association of Panoramic Photographers (IAPP) Conventions.  He has written articles for Panorama Magazine. Developed in 1976 following an exchange with a member of my family and then by buying my first camera. Since I have not ceased to develop an interest in this art form.

Over the years following the founding of CentrArte, and participation in events such as press conferences, launches and more, my camera became a witness of different cultural benefits.

This gives me a personal enrichment of these encounters and relationships with the artists.

Photo essays were my first passion in the 70s. In the 80s, I was Canada's most prolific pre-web online graphic artist. In the 90s, I became an independent (print) publisher. I am also the founder or co-founder of numerous art organizations/projects including Starside Softworks, Telidon at Trinity Square Video, Toronto Community Videotex, Videopage, Wm. Perry: Digital Text Services, Meaford Business News, The Colour Workshop, Meaford Dollars, Comedia, The Copy Chai and The Friday Cafe.  Photography and drawing have been my passion from childhood. 

Even as a little kid I was always scribbling and doodling with my pencils. 

Then, with my first little camera, I took pictures of anything , most anytime. 

I always wondered how someone could paint such a nice picture or take such a wonderful photo. My curiosity led to the first attempts to imitate those processes. Of course, this was not always met with success; but as my grandmother always says:"He has patience." And, I say modestly, " I enjoy it."

 There is always motivation for me to create a better photo, such as use a different angle of view, light, color scale, etc.

Don is an environmental scientist located in Mobile, Alabama.  He has always enjoyed photogaraphy as his main hobby.  Enjoys cityscapes, landscapes and capturing the urban and natural environments.  

Albert Brunsting is geboren in 1954 in Ruinerwold en heeft in korte tijd van zijn hobby zijn beroep weten te maken. Nadat hij de middelbare school in Meppel had gevolgd, studeerde hij fotografie en audiovisuele vormgeving aan de kunstacademie in Breda. Na zijn afstuderen in 1981, vestigde hij zich als zelfstandig fotograaf en producent in zijn geboortedorp.
Brunsting heeft gewerkt voor grote opdrachtgevers zoals o.a. het Dierenpark Emmen en De Boer Winkelbedrijven. Voor vele bedrijven maakte Albert Brunsting naast veel fotowerk ook video- en zgn. band-dia producties. Vooral bekend zijn de grote producties in het Biochron in Emmen op 3 schermen met 9 diaprojectoren. Voor deze opdrachten werden ook veel buitenlandse reizen gemaakt.

Naast fotografie is de productie van video-presentaties nog steeds een belangrijk deel van zijn werkzaamheden, de vele mogelijkheden die de nieuwe media bieden, hebben het werkterrein van Albert Brunsting
sterk verbreed. Naast lineaire video-producties zoals bedrijfspresentaties, clips en films voor internet, zijn er ook mogelijkheden voor inter-actieve producties. Maar ook de productie van documentaires behoren tot zijn werkzaamheden, oa. voor de kunstenaars Thom Puckey en Kees Thijn.
In de spaarzame tijd die overblijft is er soms tijd voor vrij werk, veelal betreft het dan reis-fotografie en bezocht hij diverse continenten en vele landen, in november 2008 bezocht hij voor het eerst Nieuw Zeeland. Hij werd daar getroffen door het groen, de ruimte en de rust. In zijn eigen woorden: ‘Het is net of je in Nieuw Zeeland in een tijdmachine stapt, terug naar de jaren zestig: geen stress, geen overbevolking. Daarna volgden nog meer reizen naar Nieuw Zeeland.

The images you see here are the result of an interest in panoramic photography that goes back over 35 years. As a student in the School of Architecture at the University of Minnesota, one often began a project by going out to a hypothetical building site with a 35mm camera and taking a series of sequential snapshots. Then, back at the studio, with a little scotch tape and the exercise of an ability not exceeding that of laying dominoes end to end, a panorama would emerge.

After two decades of dealing with real buildings on real sights, vacations to exotic places, scotch tape, exacto blades, band aids and some unsatisfactory experiments with early stitching software, I began to look at the real thing. I began to research real panoramic cameras. In 1996 I took my first true panoramic photograph with the Hulcherama Panoramic Camera. This first effort was a bewildering 360° blur of trees and boulders near Devil's Den on The Gettysburg National Battlefield, but it was the start. Subsequently, I honed a tenuous professionalism with this subtle, high-strung camera which, when it was good, was very, very good indeed.

The panoramas displayed on this page were taken with either the Hulcher or more recently, as digital technology superseded analogue, the GigaPan system. Initially, I was going to be the new interpreter of the American Civil War, a sort of historical messiah laying open heretofore unknown truths about truly historic landscapes where the fate of a divided union was played out, if play is the word. I've taken dozens of panoramas of the Gettysburg and Antietam battlefields and many others. Over the years I have expanded my portfolio to several other subjects and landscapes of interest.

You may notice that these panoramas are all cylindrical projections. Not spherical. I made this choice early on. My final work is entirely a traditional two dimensional medium...the photographic print. Although the viewing of spherical panoramas is a fascinating and informative experience, the ability to see the entire 360 degree field of vision at once in a single, unrolled, flat photographic image allows compositional and graphic advantages unavailable from a purely rotational viewing system. Hi my name is Chris and I recently entered the world of 360 Panoramas, some of my early work, and by early I mean shot in the last month or so are not full 360 x 360, sadly I was new to the world of 360s and figured it would just take a certain set of pictures, so I ended up with some unexpected shadows or didn't take a ground shot to stitch in, but I am learning and my work is getting better and better all the time.

My wife and I like Street Art so a lot of what you see will be on that subject, the really cool thing is that the locations we visit change often so whilst the location might be the same the content and subject can often be quite different.

I have been passionate about photography since I was a child and have had a camera in-hand since I was old enough to hold one. I studied the art of 35mm film photography in both high school and then again in college, and I've been capturing memories as a profession since 1999.

Guy's passion for photography was sparked in boyhood when his dad bought him a 35mm camera. Guy reflects; "he was probably fed-up with me messing around with his Leica!" 

Set on turning his hobby into a career, Guy studied photography at school and then 

Bournemouth and Poole College of Art & Design. Next stop was a Professional Media Degree at the University of Gloucestershire. There, Guy completed a degree* in photography, graphics, film and television. 

Guy's practical experience accelerated upon graduation as he worked as an assistant at Bigshots Studios, learning from some of the very best in the business - Richard Adams, Peter Davis, Steve Jukes, James Callaghan and Jon Cox. Guy spent five years in the role, honing his skills while delivering for a client list headlined by Land Rover, Jaguar, Honda and Toyota. 

His apprenticeship complete, Guy created Guy Dixon Photography and struck out on his own in 2004. A busy, globe-travelling decade has followed and his work has yielded regular high-profile clients like Toyota, Lexus and JCB. 

Guy is highly accomplished in Automobile Photography and 360 HDRI photography. He's delivered international projects for multinational corporations, working across the world. His photography has been showcased across brochures, magazines and billboards. He’s been instrumental in the design of new studios and is a skilled retoucher. 

Away from work, Guy enjoys time with his wife and two kids - bolstering the family album as he goes! He does ditch the camera - for a short time - to partake in cycling, snowboarding and surfing. Guy is based in Cheltenham, UK. 

Publicist, designer, photographer, I have worked as an art director for 25 years for different advertising agencies, designing campaigns and editorial material, for this reason and the constant supervision of photographic material the concern for landscape photography is born, a task that has always It has been present since I started working, but now with the start of the pandemic I do it professionally.

I started with spherical panoramic photography in 2005 with my first experiments. First I began with partial pano's but later I made the full spherical view. By the time my abilities increased more and more. So I developed an enthusiasm in VR photographs, because this is a fascinating way to take a look around in the whole world. Finally I wanted to add a few panorama shots of my authorship, so now I want to share more and more panoramas with other people on 360cities and other sites. For me it is all about quality, not about quantity. There is no need to produce masses of poor worked out pano's.

As a truth seeker I don't trust in the mainstream media and I reject all kind of religions, because they are cages for the mind. Therefore you won't find any churches, cathedrals or monasteries in my images. I'm interested in photography, video, publishing, journalism, languages (Dutch and Danish) and spiritual items.

Meine ersten Panorama-Experimente begannen 2005. Zuerst versuchte ich mich an Teilpanoramen, fand dann aber später zu den vollen 360 Grad-Rundum-Panoramen. Nach und nach entwickelten sich meine Fähigkeiten. Immer mehr begeisterte ich mich für Virtual-Reality-Fotos, denn ich finde, dies ist eine faszinierende Art, sich gleichsam auf der ganzen Welt umzuschauen. Irgendwann wollte ich dann auch einige Panoramas aus meiner eigenen Herstellung publizieren, und zwar auf 360cities und anderen sites. Es geht mir bei meinen Arbeiten nicht um Quantität, sondern um Qualität, denn ich habe nicht das Bedürfnis, in jeder Ecke meiner Region möglichst viele visuelle "Duftmarken" zu hinterlassen.

Ich betrachte mich als Wahrheitssucher und ich habe ein großes Mißtrauen gegenüber den Mainstream-Medien. Außerdem distanziere ich mich von allen Religionen, denn sie sind Gefängnisse für den Geist. Und somit werden da auch kaum Kirchen oder Klöster in meinen Panoramen auftauchen. Ich interessiere mich für Fotografie, Video, Journalismus, Sprachen (vor allem Niederländisch und Dänisch) und spirituelle Themen.

Meer en meer wordt ik enthousiast van virtual reality foto's, want ik denk, dat dit een fascinerende manier is, om als het ware in de heele wereld rondom te kijken. Op een gegeven moment wilde ik ook een aantal panorama's van mijn eigen productie ter beschikking stellen, en dit op 360cities. Voor mij gaat het voor al om kwaliteit, niet om kwantiteit. Mogen andere mensen aan iedere hoek hun visueel plassertje achterlaten, voor mij hoeft dat niet.

Ik beschouw mezelf als waarheidszoeker en ik heb een groot wantrouwen in opzicht op de mainstream media. Ik hou ook niet van religies, want met hun domme dogmata zijn ze allemaal kooien voor de geest. Dus zal je ook haast nooit kerken of kloosters in mijn panoramas zien. Ik ben geïnteresseerd in fotografie, video, journalistiek, talen (vooral Nederlands en Deens) en spirituele onderwerpen.

Med mine første eksperimenter jeg var startet i 2005. Først har jeg startet med delvise (mindre end 360 gråd) panoramaer, senere lavede jeg kuglepanoramaer. Lidt efter lidt udviklede jeg mine evner. Flere og flere entusiastisk blev jeg for virtual reality billederne, fordi jeg synes, at det er en fascinerende måde at kigge sig rundt omkring på verden. På et punkt vilde jeg meget gerne deltager med nogle panoramaer fra min egen produktion, og faktisk også på 360cities. For mig går det om kvalitet, ikke om kvantitet. Jeg vil ikke laver min lille duftmark på enhver hjørne af jordkloden. Det kan andre folk gør.

Jeg betragter mig selv som en sandhed søgende, og jeg har en stor mistaenkelse på mainstream medierne. Og jeg taenker, alle slags religioner er faengsels for ånden. Og det betyder, at der findes naermest ingen kirker eller kloster i mine panoramaer. Jeg er interesseret i fotografi, video, journalistik, talerne (Dansk og Hollandsk) og spirituelle emner.

Prior to my full-time photography career, I obtained a Doctorate in Entomology from the University of Natal, and spent many years working for multinational companies. For these companies I was responsible for specific African export business, and so had the opportunity to visit 22 different African countries. This is where my love of photography actually developed and I have some fascinating (though not always good) pictures of Africa!

I first took virtual tours exclusively for the tourism website My Destination Johannesburg. This gave me plenty of experience in shooting virtual tours for hotels, lodges, guest houses, museums, adventure activities, and just about any other tourism related business. After 6 years, I decided to move out of this business and concentrate on the developing art of virtual tour photography (Note: This website is unfortunately no longer being maintained by its new owner!)

I started my own company called Blue Wing Multimedia, and I now take full featured interactive virtual tours for any business interested in making their websites more attractive to their visitors. This in turn keeps a visitor on their website for longer, increasing the chance that their visitors will turn into their customers.

I offer my clients interactive virtual multimedia tours, incorporating video clips; standard panoramic virtual tours; and interactive photo tours. Our clients can "build your own tour" by selecting the type and number of photographs they wish to have, the degree of interactivity they require, and by choosing their own add-on features for the ideal displaying of their product or business. They can even send us their own quality photographs for processing. We also shoot and create short website videos.

Some of my customers over the past years include Sun International (Sun City and its Hotels), Tsogo Sun (Montecasino and its Hotels), Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves in the Cradle of Humankind, and all the Gautrain Stations, amongst others. Rivelino (b.1973 Jalisco, Mexico)

He has been experimenting with all sorts of materials, shapes and topics for over 15 years. He has most recently worked on in public interventions, investigating the relationship between the spectator and the artwork as he has done in Nuestros Silencios. During this time, Rivelino has managed the interaction of different materials such as clay and metal, from small to monumental formats.

Rivelino is mainly self-taught, however he has studied at the Ceramics School of Instututo Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA). His work is part of major private collections in Mexico, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Japan, Australia, Canada, The United States and countries in Central and South America.

London, January 6th 2011. Is this Stonehenge at Westminster? Are these Outer-space giants from a science-fiction story by H.G. Wells? Nothing of the sort. This is Nuestros silencios, a monumental public art installation by Mexican Sculptor Rivelino, which has been touring Europe and has now arrived to its sixth and penultimate tour date: London.

Nuestros Silencios will be exhibited at the Victoria Tower Gardens, located next to the Houses of Parliament, which have been catalogued as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. The Gardens are located in a riverbank overlooking the Thames, which runs from South Westminster to Lambeth Bridge.

During 2010 Rivelino’s Nuestros Silencios has been presented in five European Cities as part of the Mexican Independence Bicentennial celebrations, these cities are: Lisbon, Madrid, Brussels, Berlin and Rome, all of which are renowned metropolises, “nevertheless London, and specifically Westminster, will prove to be the jewel of the crown for this exhibition, and will not go unnoticed during its stay” as Councilman Robert Davis, Deputy Leader of Westminster City Council, pointed out in his message for the English version of the exhibition’s catalogue.

We should mention that Victoria Tower Gardens hosts important outdoors sculptural works such as Rodin’s “The Burghers of Calais”, the statue of British suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst, who had a major role in conquering women’s right to vote, and the Buxton Memorial Fountain, which commemorates the abolition of slavery. “This sculptural art celebrates social and libertarian values that are in full agreement with freedom of expression, which is the concept behind Nuestros Silencios” said Rivelino, the very first Mexican sculptor to present a monumental public installation in London.

The authorities of the Westminster City Council have been working on taking advantage of their unique public spaces through the City of Sculpture Festival, which started a year ago. This event seeks to exhibit the work of the best local and international artists, offering a platform for their work so the thousands of people that visit Westminster on a daily basis can see it.

Nuestros silencios is a monumental public sculpture installation that features ten three-dimensional pieces of great format (3.50 x 2.30 x 1.20 meters with a weight of one ton). They are made of bronze using the “lost wax” technique and white and ochre patina. The bodies are covered with low and high relieves, free-interpretation texts covered with seeds and plants. The sculptures also feature a metal plate covering their mouths symbolising the importance of individual and collective freedom of expression.

The idea of freedom of expression is a subject of permanent relevance that goes beyond aesthetic topics and encompasses politics, culture, social and personal issues, and is also related to other ambits such as freedom of the press, self censorship, copyright, intellectual property, the free flow of information on the Internet, Human rights, Public Order and protests, an also the gradual erosion of the public space.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom, the Westminster City Council and The Royal Parks have participated in this sixth and penultimate presentation of Nuestros silencios in London. The inauguration will take place on January 14th, 2011 at 12:00 pm and will be attended by the authorities of the three collaborating institutions.

I have always had a strong passion for photography, which I consider a powerful tool to capture what surrounds us: landscapes, places, facts of everyday life or architectural works.
