Old bearing, situated in front of village which is connected with the beach by a curious band of sand called Tombolo. Tombolo is a word of Italian origin indicates a sandy arrow which connects generally an island with the dry land. Saint - Marie's tombolo results from the action of the marine hydrodynamic factors.
