There are two ways to go up the wind turbine - by using the ladder or the lift inside the wind turbine. Older models, such as the ones in Virtsu, do not have a lift and can only be climbed using the ladder. If a ladder is used, then in addition to the climbing equipment, a fastening hook that moves along the ladder rail or rope must be used - additional protection in case something should happen.
