The Alqueva dam is situated on the Guadiana river in the Alentejo countryside, near the Alqueva village, Portugal. It is the largest dam in Europe, has 96 meters high, 250 km2 surface with a capacity of 150hm3, which confers the title of largest artificial lake in Europe.
