Bahia Hondita La Guajira
Colombia

Colombia is a country full of natural wonders, spectacular scenery, magic and mystery filled sites hidden in the most remote places worth visiting although often reach them can be considered an extraordinary adventure of the high level of abandonment our regions suffer, poor access roads and large areas of extreme poverty suffered by the people that make living in them can become epic stories deserve to be told.

Regions such as the Amazon, the Serrania de la Macarena, Caño Cristales, Desert Tatacoa, snowcapped mountains, moors and valleys, rugged mountains, beautiful beaches hidden in the two oceans that nature gave us, are examples of how much we have but often we do not appreciate. Today narrate them a trip you make to the Alta Guajira, a magical and dreamy region, surrounded by a desert cooking raw and strikes the eye but does not allow faint, because as you progress through the tortuous paths cover this difficult region deserts, every turn of the road, the scenery changes, and although it seemed repeated for he who knows not see, are actually new world that demonstrate that this land is harsh and unforgiving, but for humans, especially for Ethnicity Wayuu who inhabit the aptly named "Sandman" are the only beings capable of living there, showing it gives, of loving a land which many would leave fleeing, but is their homeland, the land of their ancestors, and the only land they have to offer future generations.

I invite both of these lines to live a magical, difficult world, but full of color and adventure, magic and epic visit to the Alta Guajira Colombiana.

PUNTA HENS - BAY Hondita

Distant 116 kilometers from the Cabo de la Vela, arriving in Punta Gallina and Hondita Bay takes about 3 hours in summer, considering that path is taken as part of the salinetas bordering Bahia Portete and Bahia Honda (now Natural National Park ) with an average length of 40 km long and 3 km wide approximately. The route can be considered very regularly until Rancheria called Pusheo and Paradise, but to take the detour to Punta Gallina through Dunes Taroa track would rank high difficulty, the path is an irregular shape that is easily lost with the landscape, with many place flooded with minimal rainfall and a difficult and rocky topography, but that makes the difference and make the crossing into a real adventure.

On the way you can get to Bahía Portete, Old Port of smuggling sung by minstrels of vallenato, now abandoned after a slaughter of Indians made by the paramilitaries seeking control area (now scared of the region) that reminds us that La Guajira has not been immune to the scourge plaguing the country, but today is a haven of peace with buildings without roof and doors, which are slowly crumbling because the weather, wind and sun pass your account collection, and invites meditation and honor the Wayuu, admiring a quiet place with mangroves bordering a transparent, calm and colorful sea landscape.

Tourism to this place would rank difficult and adventure but worth it because the landscapes and scenery of this region are spectacular and unique in the world.

Among the scenarios that are worth highlighting in Gallinas Tips and Bahia Hondita are three hostels on the edge of the cliffs overlooking insolent towards the bay, vivid orange, surrounded by green mangroves, contrasting with a pure blue sky and green sea bay with an abundance of bird type gulls, pelicans, frigates and pelicans.

Visiting Taroa Dunes is an obligation to go to church on Sunday for Christians, not is not going to La Guajira, is magical, its sands pink and orange, winding shapes and haughty, it seems as if God had touched the place with your finger printed and left his fingerprint on the floor. Walking through the dunes leaving your footprints knowing that in an hour or so the wind will be deleted, is a spiritual process, reminds us how fleeting that we are in this life and that if we make a difference in this world must do more great things than just living.

They should visit Punta Gallina, the far shore further north from south america, and feel that there comes the world, which is the gateway to the continent, beyond to the distant ocean and imposing nothing, and that by behind this all others, therefore you can feel for a moment that you are standing at the head of the world, an indescribable feeling.

You can also visit Punta Aguja, the Looked at Kasares, at certain times and accompanied by marine biologists who live in the area you can see the sea turtle nesting and hatching at the time (August-October), accompany newly turtles born on their way to the sea.

As in the Cabo de la Vela, this area can not miss the sunrise and sunset, not worth spending one day, but two or three, because it takes time to understand this little paradise and totally empathize with him.

As in the Cape, you can taste a variety of seafood, and of course, economic lobster.

In Bahia Hondita only three flights, two further development of infrastructure, with accommodation in rooms or hammocks, and a smaller one most familiar type.
