Boka Katuna
Caribbean
Boka Katuna is one of the rugged coastal inlets along the northern shore of Washington Slagbaai National Park, shaped by constant trade winds and the heavy surf that pounds this side of Bonaire. This 360° panorama captures the raw geology of the boka: fractured limestone, jagged edges, and the deep basin where waves funnel into the shoreline. The open horizon and steady wind give the area a dramatic, exposed character typical of Bonaire’s northern coast. The name “Katuna” reflects the site’s long history within the park’s former plantation lands, but today the boka is known for its striking natural formations and the powerful interaction between sea and rock. It’s one of the many places in Slagbaai where the landscape shows exactly how relentless the ocean can be.
